Open innovation challenges that exemplified Agorize’s commitment to driving sustainable solutions are the GreenScent Open Innovation challenges. Created in collaboration with the European Commission, the GreenScent project aims to support the Green Deal and the goal of achieving climate neutrality in Europe by 2050. As part of this initiative, Agorize partnered with the GreenScent project to launch several calls for innovative ideas in the field of sustainable food production consumption and waste management.

These challenges brought together talented teams, creative minds, and passionate innovators from around the world to address critical issues in sustainable food systems. The two grand finales, respectively held in Paris and Brussels, saw their respective finalist teams presenting their groundbreaking solutions to a distinguished panel of experts and industry leaders. The event was not just a showcase of innovation but also an invaluable networking platform for all attendees.

As these three open innovation challenges of GreenScent conclude, Agorize celebrates the successful recognition of groundbreaking solutions ready to revolutionize the food industry, from Farm to Fork.

🎉 Meet the Winners of the Sustainable Food Challenge 2023🎉
We are thrilled to announce the winners of the GreenSCENT Sustainable Food Challenge 2023:

    • Grand Winner – Smécko Srécko: Smećko Srećko promotes recycling and educates children through recycling machines.
    • Public Vote Winner – Teff Nexus: They propose sustainable production of a highly nutritious, environmental resilient gluten-free crop Teff.

We are thrilled to announce the winner of the GreenSCENT Farm to Fork student track challenge:

    • Savior Worms: Savior Worms has developed an innovative system that utilizes mealworms and bacteria to transform plastic and organic waste into valuable products. 

🎉 Meet the Winners of the Farm to Fork – Startup track 🎉
We are thrilled to announce the winners of the GreenSCENT Farm to Fork startup track challenge:

    • Green dining category: 
      • Grand Winner – Revo Foods We have developed “The Filet – Inspired by Salmon,” the world’s first 3D-printed salmon filet. This innovative product is high in protein, vitamins, and Omega-3 fatty acids, offering diners a sustainable and healthy alternative to traditional fish. The Filet sets a new standard in food innovation and sustainability.
      • Second place winner – MAGNOTHERM Our patented no-refrigerant low-energy cooling technology revolutionizes the cooling industry by eliminating refrigerants from the cooling cycle. Operating at 40% higher efficiency, this innovative solution saves energy costs and eliminates 100% of direct greenhouse gas emissions, significantly contributing to a more sustainable future.
    • Green packaging category:
        • Grand Winner – Coffee Based The Cafea Cup and Arabica Cup stand out with their award-winning design. These cups are not only reusable and dishwasher-proof but are also biobased, made from coffee grounds or silverskin. Their innovative approach to sustainability has set a new standard in eco-friendly product design.
        • Second place winner – Go Zero Waste (PaaSiot) PaaSiot is an innovative service that promotes waste reduction through new technologies, social inclusion, and sustainable transport. Standing for “Packaging as a Service Internet of Things,” PaaSiot offers a reusable packaging service interconnected with the Go Zero Waste App, making sustainability both accessible and efficient.
